Mikel Arteta feels assured that his side can persist in handling with fitness issues after revealing that star striker Kai Havertz is not ready for a few more weeks.

Extended Absence for German Star

The Germany international has been sidelined for months following knee surgery. Originally slated to return sooner, the manager stated the player hit a snag when stepping up his recovery and could not progress “the next phase.”

“Our experience helped us build a team that is much more reliable and has greater depth,” commented Arteta.

This development creates a dilemma for the midweek home game against Brentford. Arteta must choose between continuing to use Mikel Merino, who found the net in an unfamiliar forward role last weekend, or recalling Viktor Gyökeres, who made a return after a fitness issue off the bench. Fitness Doubts Remain

The manager conveyed his eagerness to have him back. “We’re all desperate to have him. Truly, Havertz is someone that, for me, I admire greatly for the qualities he offers to the team, but his character, his personality. I see him suffer on the sidelines.”
