Tehran reports attacking a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing offensive targeting the nation by the United States and Israeli forces.

Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area near the headquarters of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any destruction is unclear and the United States has remained silent.

Regional Interceptions

In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, Qatar and the State of Kuwait - each hosting US military bases - said they have engaged and destroyed missiles in their air space.

In the Qatari capital, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged several missiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.

IRGC Statement

Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated it was striking American facilities and interests as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the attack on the Islamic Republic initiated by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday morning.

That initial attack - initiated at around 06:15 GMT - has so far targeted sites associated with the Tehran's leadership, with US President Donald Trump encouraging the people of Iran to revolt against the regime.

Regional Fallout

In Israel, air raid sirens sounded across the country after the Israeli military stated it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.

The defence ministry of the UAE announced that the nation has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".

"Emirati air defenses responded to the projectiles with great effectiveness and shot down a series of missiles," it added.

The statement noted wreckage fell on a neighborhood in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.

The US Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, south of Abu Dhabi, along with the Emirati Air Force.
