The star midfielder Played in a forward position on the right while also did plenty of the hard yards. Displayed flashes of quality but scuffed a shot high. Replaced in the closing stages for a teammate, his rival, after receiving a caution. Seven

The winger Had England’s best chance of the first half, his strike smartly stopped from the Albanian keeper. As a teammate holding position, he had to stretch the play on the right but his crosses into the box varied in quality. Replaced with 15 to go. 6/10

Harry Kane The match-winner netting 77th and 78th finishes at international level. The opener a typical poacher’s finish while the second an excellent finish with his head following a clever run from his marker.
