Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

The Gunners' 10-game victorious run came to an end by the Black Cats before the global break, however will the English top division leaders recover against north London rivals Tottenham this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked football expert Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their scintillating finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's team usually still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus AI, fans and a range of special visitors.

In week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.

Murs' latest album, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Football and Parenting Experiences

Murs is a skilled footballer as well as a successful artist and has been a star of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not all Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."

The singer and his wife his partner have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday soccer team," he added.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly was involved with a soccer team for a while too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our side for several seasons and had great fun with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea may have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's comeback from injury but their offense is now more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this game will be quite tight, however. Burnley are disciplined and their only at Turf Moor losses so far have been against Liverpool and the Gunners.

This suggests a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

The singer's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were away - but they got absolutely spanked by Aston Villa last time out which surprised me.

On the other hand, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they appear strong again.

West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still Forest manager.

So, what on earth do I go with here - can West Ham continuing their run under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

The guest's prediction: The home team are performing strongly but West Ham have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were considered one of the favourites for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a few observers under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four matches.

My son told me to get Bees forward Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer team a few weeks ago and, guess what, I ignored the advice.

The forward will likely find the net again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great success on the travel this term, and Brighton are consistently strong at home. The visitors will try to hit them on the counter-attack but I think the home manager's team pose much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be a match where you think there is going to be a lot of scores but it actually turns out to be rather tight. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a huge game for the Cottagers, who have lost five of their last six matches.

They have got plenty of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be dragged into a drop zone fight.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the top flight campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 draw with Arsenal last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the North London side like that this term, and Sunderland were fully competitive for them.

The sensible thing to do to back the Black Cats here, because they are clearly able of roughing the hosts up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat the Blues at the end of last month.

However I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to carry on going against Sunderland with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive outcomes because they clearly enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good outcome, so I am going to predict they will secure three much-needed points.

The expert's prediction: 1-0

Olly's choice: I know Sunderland are performing strongly and additionally that the hosts are on a bad streak... but Fulham have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to call. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten games in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
